In this year the Freakstock-theme will be called „Beine in die Hand” (legs in your hands) - which means something like “hurry up” or “run away fastly” but also „let´s get it started” or “take your chance” (running away from god, evangelisation, social engagement, breakup, …). Impressions like these will lead us through the four Freakstock-day-sermons.

*** Saints like you and me
Saints are special Christians, that could become role models in faith. It is about the question: Can I become more like Jesus, but stay human at the same time?
In Catholic and Orthodox churches they have this tradition in worshipping saints. Norbert Roth is going to explain why this is usually no idolatry and why it is good for our faith to know more about the biographies of saints.

*** Festivals

In an impressing abbey and castle complex near Wroclaw, the Slot Art Festival took place from 8 to 11 July 2009. Although it was founded by the Steiger Mission (known by “Rockpriest” David Pierce), the festival consciously tries not to confront visitors with the Christian faith in a straightforward manner. There is an almost wasteful variety of workshops. About 3000 visitors engage in handicraft, art, dance, politics, culture, music and – more or less – also in the power that has made this spectacle possible: the faith in Jesus Christ.

Borgentreich – Freakstock has closed this year with a surplus. The festival promoters, the „Dream Team“ under the direction of Henrik Begemann, shows itself highly satisfied. „We thank you all and above all we thank Jesus, of course. Thank you to all who came, but we also know other times and this not so very long ago!“ it says in an E-mail by the Dream Team. Therefore Freakstock asks this year every festival participant to donate for the partner festivals: for the Freakfest in the Czech Republic and the Upfest in the Ukraine.
